YYachts continues its successful cooperation with Bill Tripp and Andrew Winch. The German shipyard just delivered a customized Y9 which implements the work of the two world renowned designers – Tripp for the exterior and Winch for the interior. The 90 feet sloop, one of the biggest sailing yachts ever built in Germany, has been ordered by a European customer who plans to use the yacht for extensive cruising.

This new Y9 features a striking deckhouse that offers a very bright interior. The saloon of the yacht has two levels - the upper level is used for dining and offers a magnificent view of the sea, while the lower level is equipped as a lounge area with elegant furniture.

Forward of this “center“ of the yacht is the owner's cabin, which is entered through a dressing room with ample storage space for him and her. The suite itself is a very personal retreat and is equipped with a sofa, a dressing table and a spacious bathroom.

The layout of the yacht is optimized for families and friends to enjoy extended voyages.

The interior design by Winch Design from London and shows a minimalist and open-plan style, benefiting from plenty of natural light. Drawing stylistic inspiration from the U.S. East Coast and mid-century Scandinavian influences, as well as soft leather and light oak wood, the ambiance exudes understated elegance.

The goal in the development of the yacht was a competitive performance on the regatta circuit, combined with comfortable sailing behavior. This is achieved through YYachts' customary consistent weight saving in the construction and finishing of the yacht: the yachts's hull, deck, internal structure and rigging are made of carbon.

Thanks to its sophisticated configuration, the yacht can be comfortably operated by very few sailors; thrusters provide support during maneuvers in narrow marinas.

Michael Schmidt, founder of YYachts, says: "This new Y9 has been ordered by a repeat customer which makes us proud as it shows that our approach is well received as the owner is not the first one ordering a second YYacht. We are currently looking at a very healthy orderbook and getting requests from around the globe."
